The environment or operational conditions employee(s) will be working in directly effects the ability to complete the job/task safely.  Consider the following and assess the level of risk associated with each to determine if safe work performance may be affected.

• Visibility (e.g., fog, rain, snow, blowing dust)

• Temperature & humidity

• Wind

• Precipitation

• Terrain

• Elevation

• Remote locations

• Wildlife (e.g., bears, snakes)

• Vegetation (e.g., poisonous plants, dense foliage)

• Human made obstructions

• Daylight and/or darkness

• Ventilation/air quality

• Noise

• Vibration

• Airborne contaminants

• Road/walking surfaces (e.g., pavement, gravel, dirt, ice, mud, snow, sand)
